The Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner
With Bentley's 100th anniversary set to be next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. TheKeyLab pays tribute to the company's founder father, W.O. Bentley includes a part from one of his automobiles.
The special model which is available on a regular or long-wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed, was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. was using as his personal vehicle. The influence of this car can be seen in the cabin. For instance the Mulliner illuminated bar cabinet comes with a display with a piece of the 8 Litre crankshaft on display inside.
Other highlights include a chrome-colored application that runs back along the side of the car, which has an air vent with a photoetched B shape which incorporates W.O. The front grille is designed after 1930s-appropriate Onyx and there's also an optional chrome cladding around the lower spoilers to the left and right. The front grille is also a unique design, with chrome-colored shells replacing the body-colored mesh of Mulsanne. It also features the Flying B Logo.
A key box with the Bentley wings holds two keys and features black flock lining. individual key pouches are available to complement or stand out from the key box. The commemorative set includes an exact 1:18 scale model as well an air-borne "B" paperweight. The set also comes with an illustrated booklet that features never-before seen images of the original 1930s Bentley 8 Litre.
The Bentley Wing Key Box

The knurling of the metal-to-metal key fob mimics textures found in the interior, including the controls for temperature of the seat and the shift knob. "We wanted the knurlings to be as uniform and elegant as possible," says Van Braekel. "It was also important to maintain in a shape and size that was easily identifiable."
Bentley Mulliner customers are able to select any color from the Bentley portfolio, as well as any combination of veneers or hides and bespoke embroidery. Bentley's signature diamond in diamond quilting is applied to the entire cabin using more than 400,000 stitches. The lighting in the cabin can also be adjusted to accommodate different moods.
Outside illuminated treadplates as well as brushed silver clocks are available as standard. New 22in wheels feature self-levelling Bentley logos. Customers can also choose to have their own custom Bentley emblem laser-etched onto the rear fixing, in an homage to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. Edition that was the inspiration for the car.
